Since my last post I’ve had gigs with trio SunSetters and quartet The Longshore Drifters.

The Longshore Drifters (aka LSD) here – https://www.longshoredrifters.com/

To summarise, SunSetters did a roaring gig at Barnaby’s Lounge – https://barnabyslounge.co.uk/ and LSD been tearing it up regularly with a packed last gig at The Lord Nelson, Hastings and many more dates lined up for this summer with a photo shoot under our belt and a new album to drop in the Autumn.

This coming May Day w/e I perform at famous Jack in the Green festival on Accordion for Rheda’s Dream Morris Side https://www.instagram.com/rhedasdream/ and if I can squeeze it in, caixa for Sambalanco! https://sambalanco.uk/

Outside of this I seem to have got involved in local politics in a small way doing my best to keep hate out of Hastings.

My chairy motorbike ride out is on 17th May riding to Rye this year – https://gentlemansride.com/events/england/hastings. Last year 90+ riders raised £8k+ for good causes. I am the creator and host of this, the only DGR in the whole county!

Also in May I start a daunting build project which hopefully completed within 3 – 4 months, so by September. It’s possibly the biggest project I’ve ever undertaken.

Our house project continues with both bedrooms and lounge now completed aloing with front garden. The back now has a clay pizza oven I made using clay taken from the front garden, a new tree planted and our pond finished. I’m hoping if my build completed by September as planned I may be able to host a bbq (with pizzas too) to celebrate all achieved.

Next Winter we’ll do the remaining internal jobs of decorating the hallway and kitchen.

Next Spring I’ll dismantle and rebuild the porch (if it hasn’t collapsed by then!) using my built workshop.

The music chuffs along as always as does the incredible life and community Hastings provides.
