Got some time to catch up here as currently stricken down with a particularly harsh chest infection. Throat of razor blades, lungs like tracing paper…the hacking coughs of every 30 seconds for the last 3 days and nights quite something…slightly tripping on sleep deprivation so apologies for any typos etc…
Done a few more gigs drumming with The Longshore Drifters…as their latest…and current….drummer….
Played Caixa with Sambalanco for Sunday Morning’s Fat Tuesday…also saw lots of good music.
Programming the backing tracks on to my Korg EX20 keyboard for SunSetters…complex but worth the work…
Set up a club night for 16-17 year-olds here in Hastings after getting feedback there not much for them to do.
If succesful, may do quarterly.
At the end of 2025 I removed myself from many projects and roles to focus on running fewer but better.
It’s proved the correct thing to do.
I have 3 current Hastings-based projects of the DGR, HEC and OFFSET.
The plan is to hand them off to others over the next 2 years.
Then at 60 I will focus on one role within the town (tbc as in the planning stages still) and continuing to play drum, piano and accordion in whatever capacity presents itself that I choose to go or stay with.
Seems a solid plan.
