About

I am Barney Musician –  a music graduate, pianist, drummer, accordionist and teacher.

I teach 600+ children music weekly in a Primary School, teach piano, GCSE Music and drum kit privately and run a parent choir.
I recently finished a post-grad at Roehampton University in using Sounds of Intentand am helping develop a music network for SEN children in Hackney.

I have a full PA and lights for hire for events.

I work with 2 superb DJs as 2 separate DJ/Percussionist packages – Brandy & Coke or Chef De Party.

I have a swing jazz group called G&T available who have the flexibility to be booked as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet.

I play live piano for events  – wedding receptions, networking and corporate events, birthdays, parties and what have you.  Having background piano can really set off an event and provide that unique selling point that helps make it a memorable occasion.  I provide my own professional portable piano as needed. I can also provide a fabulous jazz singer to perform with me as a duo, or full jazz, funk or rock band if desired.

I run Barney’s Barn Dance, an accordion-led Country Dance session – these are two 30 minute-long dances for events that generally involve me playing and shouting instructions at people who get the giggles, laugh a lot and get a little out of breath having a wonderful time forgetting what they should be doing…

If you are planning any type of event and would like help organising the music do get in touch as I have over 25 years experience in musical event planning with testimonials from many satisfied clients. From simple solo piano to Elvis landing in a helicopter on the lawn at Henley then singing with the band (to the amazement and joy of the bride, groom and guests – all be it a Vegas-Era impersonator) I can arrange it. I ran my own festival in 2014 with 20 bands and 10 DJs for 500 people in a field in Devon. It was great! 🙂

I teach Piano and Drum Kit from my studio just off London Fields in E8 and currently have availability. I teach adults and children, beginners and returners.  I have taught for many years and can again provide testimonials from satisfied parents and individual students.

I run drumming and composition music workshops for groups, either in schools or for private events (such as a recent African Drum session for a Stag Group) and can run these at a venue of your choice or from my studio by London Fields.

I compose music to order for Television and Film, have specialised in Commercials Work and had international success having written for campaigns by Saatchi & Saatchi amongst others – my showreel is here on this website – click on the Instruments I Play section and have a look.

I offer Live Recording Sessions using my portable 16-Track Digital Studio, a recent project being the recording of an Album in The Gambia in Africa of the band Roots Mandin, profits from sales of the CD I produced subsequently going to the band who as a result have been able to buy a compound and build a bar which they run and from which they perform to tourists providing them with a sustainable income.

I have been a musician for 30 years, played Glastonbury Main Stages, Wembley Stadium, Ronnie Scotts and many other venues. I’m also very good at Frisbee…

Do get in touch with any questions, to discuss what ever options you are interested in exploring and get the musical opportunity you want delivered.
